308.1DWI Punishment Charts

A defendant convicted of DWI must be punished under the provisions of G.S. 20-179 that were in effect at the time the defendant committed the offense.

The charts below depict the sentencing laws for offenses committed on the following dates: 

  1. On or after October 1, 2013; 
  2. On or after December 1, 2012, but before October 1, 2013; 
  3. On or after December 1, 2011, but before December 1, 2012; 
  4. On or after December 1, 2007, but before December 1, 2011.
